Description
Dating back to the 15th century, Château Mauvesin Barton benefits from clay-limestone terroirs, fine gravel and sand with gravel. It extends over 51 hectares of vines with an average age of 35 years, managed using sustainable agriculture and exclusively with red grape varieties. This Moulis-en-Médoc is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Aged for about a year in French oak barrels (one third of which are new), the result is a red wine with aromas of black fruits and liquorice. While enjoyable in its youth, it is still advisable to let it age for a few years.
