Description
The Castle of Villeneuve was acquired by the parents of Jean-Pierre Chevallier, winegrowers for three generations. The property extends over 16 hectares of Chenin and 20 from Cabernet Franc. Today it is Jean-Pierre Chevallier who directs the certified organic vineyard. Here he presents his signature cuvée, a Saumur-Champigny. Her dress has a brilliant and little concentrated ruby red. Its nose is dominated by blackberry, raspberry and wood strawberry, all underlined by delicate floral shades. At tasting, the attack is lively and lightens a fleshy middle of mouth. A Cabernet Franc to taste in his youth, but who will gain velvety after a few years in the cellar.
