Description
Characterized by “exceptional domain” by Robert Parker in 1998, the domain of the Hortus is among the references of Languedoc-Roussillon. Its Pic Saint-Loup is developed with a majority of Syrah, supplemented by Mourvèdre and Grenache, all from a terroir formed of scree and limestone bursts. Raised for 10 months in tanks, this cuvée sports a red dress with garnet reflections. Its aromatic bouquet turns out to be powerful and complex, between ripe red fruits, vanilla, licorice and sweet spices. Its frank and powerful attack gives way to sweet tannins and a long finish. Enjoy this red wine with grilled red meats or during a dinner aperitif. It can be kept briefly in the cellar.
